Scope
This policy covers the AiPod Pro iPhone app and AiPod Mac BLE helper. The public release is in preparation. AiPod does not require a developer account. The inspected version contains no advertising, cross-app tracking or developer analytics upload service.
Tasks and connections
After you pair your Mac, the helper can read recent task states, titles, summaries, content and supported requests from a compatible Codex desktop build or a configured local session source and send them to iPhone over the paired Bluetooth connection. Advanced HTTPS mode accesses the configured read-only source. AiPod provides no developer-operated cloud task relay. The local demo uses sample content, not live tasks.
Voice and text
The microphone is used only when you start voice input and grant permission. The current version requires Apple Speech on-device Mandarin recognition. If unavailable, it asks you to use the keyboard rather than falling back to cloud recognition. Audio is not written to a file or sent to the Mac. Local volume and frequency features drive visual feedback. Recognized text is editable and may be stored locally as a task-specific draft.
Actions you initiate
Where the connection mode and task capabilities permit, messages and supported actions you explicitly initiate are sent to your paired Mac and processed by its connected Codex service. Sending text to Codex may involve that service’s network processing under your account settings and its policies. On-device transcription does not mean submitted text always stays on-device. The developer does not relay these actions through AiPod servers.
Local storage and records
Pairing keys and HTTPS credentials use the system Keychain. The phone may store settings, text drafts, recovery positions, completion records and pending-command records. The Mac retains pairing identity, runtime settings, recovery events and a command ledger to support synchronization and avoid duplicate sends. Diagnostics and interaction records stay on-device and are not automatically uploaded to the developer. Files may contain task identifiers and text: review them before sharing. System backups follow your device settings.
Permissions and display
Bluetooth discovers and connects your Mac. Local-network access serves optional network connections. Microphone and speech-recognition access serve active voice input. Notifications and Live Activities provide alerts you enable. Manage permissions in system settings. Lock-screen or desk displays may expose task titles and status to nearby people; choose settings appropriate for your surroundings.
Removal and control
Forget Bluetooth Pairing removes the phone-side saved pairing; revoke the Mac-side key separately. HTTPS credentials have their own removal control. Reset Session Records does not erase all drafts or pairings. Uninstalling does not revoke another device’s key or guarantee deletion of Keychain entries and existing system backups. Contact support if the removal scope is unclear; do not send keys, passwords or private task text.
Support and updates
If you email us, your address and supplied content are used to handle your request. Send only necessary, redacted information. Email providers, Apple system features and connected Codex services process data under their own policies. We will update this policy when data practices change.
